Small deciduous tree and large shrub, typically 6-10m tall sometimes reaching 12m.gray -brown bark rough with age.

Uses

  • Bark contains salicin , compound historically used as a natural source for asprin like remedies against fever ,pain and inflamation,fuelwood ,fodder,ornamental,excellent soil binding and erosion control along streams.
Important for ecological balance and supports biodiversity.
